Came for the oysters, was not disappointed. The waitress knew exactly where the oysters were sourced which is two thumbs up in my book. The rest of the meal was good too. Had a martini which was also good. Would recommend.

This was one of the best cularinary experience I have tasted. My father-in-law even said it was the best Jambalaya in Canada and Panama. It even rivaled one he had in Alabama, USA. The portions were more than generous with plenty of seafood and chicken and sausage in the plate. Amazing! Phenomenal! Wow!

Such a fantastic experience at Big Daddy’s Crab Shack! The food was amazing and the service was top notch! We had Aleisha as a server and she was incredibly kind and recommended us the blackened alligator bites which were made perfect, especially since I don’t do well with spice it was the perfect balance of spice and flavour. We also did the crab cakes which seemed homemade and packed with crab rather than filler. And had started with Oysters which had freshly shaved horseradish shaven in the back off the root Aleisha had told us. The mignonette sauce was AMAZING with the oysters as well. The atmosphere is very New Orleans with a large alligator statue as well. My fiancé and I both agree, this place is a hidden GEM!! Thank you endlessly Big Daddy’s Crab Shack! Can’t wait to come back!

A welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Found it randomly while driving by. I've only had the calamari and a couple of pints so far, but the food was good and the happy hour prices (4-6pm) on food and drinks were great deals - one of the better happy hour menus I have seen in Ottawa. I am interested to try their oysters and some of the more Southern/Louisiana dishes. Not sure how authentic they will be yet but the inclusion of dishes with andouille and alligator on the menu is promising. Prices on oysters seem very reasonable as well and I will try them in the future. There was a good-sized happy hour crowd when I visited, which is a good sign in a residential neighbourhood just six weeks after opening. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. If the other dishes are as great at the calamari this may become a regular afternoon happy hour spot for me. The cocktail list is understandibly vodka focused, but beside the obligatory martini none of them appear alcohol-forward. This is probably a good call for the neighbourhood, but some stronger cocktail options would be welcome since vodka pairs well with seafood.

Went for happy hour on a Thursday so the daily special is tenderloin steak which was just ok, really wasn’t expecting a steak house steak. Would never pay the regular price for it. On the positive side, the escargot (snails) were top notch & what I never expected. The Creole sauce had a nice spice to them & loved it with the crostinis. Bar server was great. Definitely recommend happy hour, but u can only have 2 drinks at one time so if you want to drink I suggest u come earlier.

Great location..easy to find. Ample parking. Fantastic welcome with our table ready and waiting. Air quality was very good. Plenty of natural light. Service was awesome. Food was fresh and so delicious. Highly recommended. #localguide

I haven't been here in years! But I was really jonesing for some jambalaya and there aren't too many options in town. The jambalaya was quite good with lots of seafood. The fish and chips look like tasty as well and the surf and turf was good. We had the alligator bites to start off, blackened, but they were somewhat underwhelming. Service was friendly and accommodating. Not inexpensive for lunch, but good sized portions ease the sting little. Lunch for 6 was north of $300 without drinks. Decor is a little dated, but lots of natural lighting in the daytime. Nice to have a Cajun option in town.
